Librarians' Day
Librarians' Day Celebration on 11th August 2024: The Women Librarians' Association of Assam (WLAA) the 132nd birth anniversary of Padma Shri S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, by celebrating at the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University, Guwahati, Assam. Founder editor of 'Nandini', author and journalist, Maini Mahanta delivered a thought-provoking speech on "Balancing Professional and Personal Life for Women". She highlighted the significance of self-love for women's physical and mental well-being. Dr. Nabajyoti Das and Bhaskar Deka were felicitated for their invaluable support to WLAA. This event featured a chorus, speeches, award distributions, dances, and the launch of a souvenir.
Librarians' Day Celebration on 12th August, 2020: To commemorate the 128th birth anniversary of Padmashree Dr. S. R.
